Word photographs

About a year or two ago, I began recording memories and special moments through words rather than photos. The musings are typically short and range anywhere from a recollection of an apartment I used to live in to capturing an emotion that I feel intensely. The practice has been extremely cathartic, and it has filled quite a few notebooks. I find that in writing down these memories and emotions, my heart and mind are contained in a unique way. The practice also enables me to understand myself, my emotions and my faith on a deeper level. If you have never tried to capture a moment with words, I heartily recommend you do so. It may open up doors to your writing and imagination that you never knew existed.
